Washington Quitclaim Deed

Skip the Trip to a Notary's Office

Through our partnership with NotaryLive, you can get a quitclaim deed — or any other document — notarized remotely online (RON), no appointment or drive required. The whole thing happens from your own computer in a matter of minutes.

Washington's Remote Online Notarization Rules

Washington authorizes remote online notarization under the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts, codified at RCW § 42.45.280.

  • ✔ The notary performing the notarization must hold a Washington RON commission as an electronic-records notary — but you, the signer, can appear from anywhere over approved audiovisual technology.
  • ✔ Not every commissioned Washington notary is authorized to perform RON. The notary must register as an electronic-records notary, use an approved communication-technology platform, and verify the signer's identity through at least two methods (or a credible witness) before proceeding.
  • ✔ Washington law is clear on accepting traditional notarization from other states, but this site is not treating out-of-state RON platforms as automatically accepted — confirm with your county Auditor if you're relying on an out-of-state RON notary specifically.
